We are scheduling this maintenance window in order to downgrade the Cisco IOS image on our distribution routing switches, to a more stable release. We have recently been advised by Cisco TAC of a bug in the image we are currently running on these particular switches. At present there is no stable bug release and Cisco TAC advise a roll back to prior stable version.
We are going to minimise impact on clients by changing out the hardware onto new switches with the recommended IOS image and config already installed, rather than rolling back on the current hardware. This means that the actual period of downtime you will experience will only be around 5 minutes, at any time during the above 2 hour window, as we move you over to the new switch. The main period of downtime will be as the network re-converges at Layer 2 after the change. If you have any problems with your connection after this time, or if you have any questions regarding the maintenance at any point
